El Karama Eco Lodge
El Karama Eco Lodge is a 14,000 acre, family-run cattle and wildlife ranch, operational since 1963. An outdoors lifestyle consisting of ranching, painting, sculpting, horseback and walking safaris is an integral part of life at El Karama.
Only an hour’s drive out of Nanyuki to the north-west, El Karama is home to over 75 species of mammal (including the endangered Grevy’s Zebra, Cape hunting dog and Lelwels hartebeest), 370 species of bird and the Big Four (the black rhino can be spotted on neighboring sanctuaries).
Built on the tranquil, acacia clad banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, El Karama Eco Lodge offers accommodation for up to 20 people.
Accommodation ranges from four stone/canvas bandas, an Upstream cottage (ideal for a family) and a spacious rondavel with a beautiful view of the river.
El Karama Eco Lodge prepares delicious meals using fresh ingredients grown on the ranch. From bush breakfasts and dinners for special occasions to a personal waiter service option, a tailored culinary experience.
